2001/02: Extreme Sports Recreational Centre, Liverpool, England.front elevation

This project represents my final design project of my masters degree (Bachelor of Architecture), undertaken at the Hull School of Architecture, England, 2002. This project is also entered into this years RIBA Silver Medal Award Part 2 Design, for more details visit: presidentsmedals

in identifying a suitable site for an extreme sports centre, an active industrial area provides an ideal setting, with large populations and the opportunity for activity to spread to adjoining areas.

through the visual impact of a continually focused viewpoint, and an increasing zoom factor bringing the site into a continually changing context, all its different parameters can be identified, from the macro to micro level.

as a continuation to the use of the animation strip as a method of developing my initial concepts, this process is repeated, but from a vertical viewpoint, with the notion continued on the vertical axis.
