the building's brief was developed alongside the concept development, and focused on the association of the notion of movement as the main activity to take place within the, and around the building structure.
following on with the ideas developed by Duchamp through his paintings, the function of an activity can be expressed within a static image, whilst still retaining the idea of movement, and which can be developed into physical function zones.
the functional zoning with the building structure has been suggested through the actual physical form of the building, where the relationship between spaces initiated through my concept development.
through the activities themselves, motion is conveyed not only with the physical structure, but also by those both partaking and spectating the various activities offered within the complex.
function zoning does not follow the normal compartmentation of different functions, but rather the overlapping of functions is encouraged, both horizontally and vertically.
this form of architecture allows its users to fully utilise every aspect of the space, both within and around the structure as an enhancement to the activities offered.
