this possibility of an animate field opens up a more intricate relationship of form and field than has been previously possible. rather than an entity being shaped only by its own internal definition, these topological surfaces are inflected by the field in which they are modeled.
if an entity is moved in space, its shape might change based on the position within gradient space even though the definition of the entity remains constant. thus, the same entity duplicated identically but in a different gradient space might have a different configuration.
